Tasmac Kolkata Ready For The Big Boom
The TASMAC Kolkata (Calcutta) campus was inaugurated by the British Deputy High Commissioner,Dr. Andrew Hall on July 27, 2005. (Please click here to read the excerpt of the speech made by Dr. Andrew Hall). Click here for the speech.

The city of Kolkata is in the throes of a metamorphosis. From being a bastion of traditional trade unionism to a city which wants to join the mainstream of progress and prosperity and move forward full stream. The state government has pulled out all stops to see that Kolkata offers a favourable industrial climate and is wooing some leading lights of industry to start their ventures from this city.

The big names who will soon set up their pet ventures in Kolkata are Tatas, Reliance and Wipro to name a few. A host of other well-known names such as Khaitans, Kedias, Goenkas and Birlas already operate a host of industries in Kolkata - ranging from Jute to Cement, from Paper to Pharmaceuticals. Today a number of IT majors and BPOs have shown their willingness to make Kolkata their home base.

The city has an international airport and offers air and rail connectivity with most major Indian cities. Another feature of this city is its rich cultural heritage. Its soul is seeped in art, music, drama and this reflects in the warmth of the local Bengalis. Sensitive, temperamental and yet always with a strong zest for learning and education.

Kolkata on the eastern coast of India has a pleasant climate and offers reasonably priced residential accommodation. A large number of aspiring youngsters from neighbouring states desire to live in Kolkata as it symbolizes their idea of a dream city. Many come here to fulfill their educational aims and objectives.

Perceiving this new facet of Kolkata, TASMAC embarked upon a well prepared educational plan that would do gen X of the city proud. TASMAC decided to set-up its establishment in the posh and up-market area of Salt Lake - home to some of the leading commercial trading houses.

TASMAC House, Kolkata holds within its precincts all those paraphernalia that make it one of the leading business schools in the country. Students would never feel there is something amiss. In keeping with that, the classrooms are well-designed to hold students ranging from 20 - 65. There are state-of-the-art seminar room and conference room which are well equipped with LCD projectors and TV.

A computer lab with some fine softwares and the latest in hardware gives students an opportunity to work online. The entire campus is Wifi enabled and offers Internet connectivity 24 x 7. The library is another fine feature in the campus. Home to some excellent books and journals on a host of management, IT and Media topics it also has an array of video cassettes and CD on current management topics.

Students can take a break from their studies and chill out in the area earmarked for relaxation. A pool table and table tennis helps students to unwind. A very hospitable cafeteria greets the students within the campus. The ambience is relaxed and students apart from getting fine food and snacks have discussions in an informal manner.

The campus administration has been so trained as to make students comfortable and at home. Most needs of the students are taken care of. All the regular programs of MBA, MSc and BA are conducted at this campus. In addition, TASMAC Kolkata has a tie up with the Calcutta Management Association and offers a host of management diplomas in subjects such as Marketing, Materials, Finance, HR, Tourism, Sales, and Hospitality. In addition, MA in Advertising, MA in Journalism and MA in Public Relations validated y the University of Wales will also be conducted from here.

TASMAC Kolkata will certainly match the educational demands of this booming city.
